Field Day Part Deux: What are BosCon Members Working On?

This post was written by Boston Content Co-Executive Director Mike Baker, content strategy manager at InsightSquared. Follow him, @MarketingBaker.

Boston Content held its first-ever Field Day last month, and we learned exactly how valuable it can be to get out of the office. Whether it was a simple change of scenery or something about the collaborative atmosphere ingrained at WeWork, the day proved to be a productivity-booster for everyone involved.

The second iteration was held this past Tuesday, and we learned a different lesson: Taking a little time to learn about what other content marketers are doing can go beyond boosting productivity; it can kick start your creativity and open your eyes to new ways of creating great content.

One of our focuses for this Field Day — which, as always, was held at WeWork's awesome South Station space — was to carve an hour or so off from heads-down work time to hear from Boston Content members' about their current work initiatives, after-work pet projects and anything else worth sharing.

It's probably not surprising to learn that the 20 or so local content producers who showed up are working on some pretty awesome stuff these days.

Here is a quick smattering of some of the highlights:

  • Jared Cosulich, serial entrepreneur, is working on TheBestListEver, a website where people can share their favorite things.

  • Cara Hogan, content marketer at InsightSquared, is about seven episodes deep into her new business insights podcast.

  • Roger C. Parker, content strategy expert, is continuing to hone his tips for setting up the perfect content calendar.

Next Field Day is coming up soon! Make sure you're on our email list to get updates on the next one.
